My name is Frank . I am a experienced Artisan baker. I have worked in both retail and commercial bakeries and restaurants for many years and found most of them to be very closed minded about making products or menu items that meet the needs of people that need special diets or that have allergies to various foods.
I recently spoke with a friend who operates a restaurant. He told me about a group that he had prepared a special dinner for because they could not eat any products that contain wheat or gluten. I was also asked to make sugar free breads for several customers shortly after speaking to him. These events caused me to do some research in our local market and the result is this club.
OUR GOAL
Our goal is to provide a resource for the exchange and testing of recipes for breads rolls cakes and pastries. We all know how hard it is to find these products in the market and when you do you get them home you find that they are very tasteless and dry or very heavy. Well ,we hope to change this.
HOW?
As members of our club you will be able to search our pages and find or post recipes for various products. You can submit your favorite and ask us to try and replace the sugar ,or some other ingredient that you cannot eat , and do a test bake for you. We will then send you a sample to taste and instructions for how to make it in your kitchen. If you do not like to bake or you dont have the time or talent , we will give you a quote on the cost of having us bake for you and ship it to you.
Membership
We are still working out the details , but here is a draft of what we are proposing.We will finalize this in a few days.
1) We will charge you a one time membership fee of $5.00
2) You will pay membership dues of $1.00 per month
These fees will allow you to post your recipes by e mailing them to us and have us test or alter if possible to meet your needs. Or you may pick a recipe from the site . You will be limited to TWO requests per month. We will then mail you a fresh or par baked sample for you to try. We would also send you the methods we used to obtain the results and the altered recipe.
As I said before you can purchase from us but you dont have to. Some ingredients that we use to replace wheat , sugar and gluten are very expensive when purchased in small amounts. Another service to members of the club will be access to our bulk prices for these items. We will sell you the ingredients at a price that is slightly higher than our cost .
Our web site is of course for the purpose of promoting our products. But, these services will only be open to our club members.
We will keep the membership requirements and terms as simple as possible and although we have the right to change the requirements and terms of this membership we will always notify members in advance. You may cancel your membership at anytime by sending us an e mail , fax or letter. All members will be given a number for identification purposes and we will list you on the site by a user name that you select.
Payment of dues and fees
We are set up now to take Pay Pal payments. This is a very simple system to use and is very secure. We will also take checks or money orders by mail. This will take longer to process but we dont mind if you dont. Just send an e mail or fax and we will give you the details.
Please Note: Due to shipping costs and possible problems with customs , we are only able to offer this club to people in the continental United States at this time. We will be expandig this service soon.
We must of course have a good size membership in order for this to work. We will need a starting membership of 500 people. This will not take us long to reach. After we reach 500 members we will be able to purchase the special flours , sugar substitutes and so on at a reduced price. This will also help cover some of our costs for testing .
You can help us reach this goal by sharing this club with all your friends and family. We will post updates on membership on a daily basis.
